In October my neighbor, Oli, and I planned to meet in Hope (AK), a small town about 30 miles SE of Anchorage. He was going to paraglide and I was going to drink coffee.
Oli took his Pitts.

When I arrived Oli was hiking up the ridge to launch his glider.

So I walked around town waiting on his return to visit one of the shops for some coffee.

Unfortunately the wind changed directions so he couldn’t take off and had to walk down. Such is paragliding. Of course by then the shops were closed, such is coffee drinking.

But since these were only excuses and the actual mission was to fly and enjoy the great weather the trip was a success.
